Featuring Yours Truly, a Single Friend Who Really Found Great Expectations

Now, I cannot say I’m exactly happy being picky and not be lying. Even then, I’m not unsatisfied with the reality of life, either. I only mention it here as an appetizing little tidbit setting up the story I am about to explain in grand style.

Last Monday I met for coffee with Stacey, pondering about buying a membership to Dallas Personals site. Today, I stand to my readers as a happy member of the dating service. No kidding, and I almost don’t believe it myself! I like it! If you have read my old blog, perhaps you’re thinkin’, “You totally owe me an explanation.”

Well, I noticed these Great Expectations Reviews and can really get behind their approach. They’re for the serious singles who know dating doesn’t have to be so frivolous and stupid.

Because I’d never enjoyed or even tolerated the ridiculous nightlife ritual most people so aptly entitled “The Dating Experience.” I heard it more than you know. Each night people ask, “You’re still single? ” and “Oh I know just the guy for you!”

“Ugh, and double ugh.” I banter right back, without missing a beat. “Take a look around, I’m not missing much.”

“Don’t be silly,” they level with me. “That’s just an excuse for your cynicism.”

Thankfully, that’s my best friend (on a good day) (hehe) Stacey McCarthy. She sets the best ideas to my mind 99% of the time. Friends you can trust for fresh advice. No countering that, and I thank her for it.

Returning to the meaning of this post. As I picked from more than three hundred combinations of outfits for my first Great Expectations date, something occurred to me that was quite real. For years, I hadn’t allowed myself too many emotional great expectations for dating in the serendipitous winding course of being human. Single life has its perks, only if you take the opportunity to meet new people. Having great expectations makes a difference in dating.
