Cloud Circle Seeks to Cut through Hype
A new organization that is based in the UK is looking to cut through the hype associated with private cloud computing. Potential clients and enthusiasts are invited to its upcoming launch.
The Cloud Circle markets itself as the first independent and IT-focused cloud computing company in Britain. It has opened its doors in December last year under the management of BI and the corporate performance interest of Obis Omni group.
The company got a positive initial response for the venture. Within the first two weeks following the opening, it has managed to invite two hundred IT execs from firms that are just as diverse as DHL, Barclays and BP.
The launch of the new body is going to be held on February 23. The venue, however, has yet to be specified but it is going to be somewhere in Central London. Attendance is free but because tickets are limited, interested readers and businesses are encouraged to register so they can get passes as soon as possible. The Cloud Circle will also organize its first forum entitled, ‘Getting to Grips with the Business-Critical Fundamentals of Cloud Computing,’ at the Park Plaza Hotel, London on April 20.
The hype that surrounds the cloud is eliciting chucks to the old hands in the IT game. After all, the concept is not entirely new. The problem is that the term is at risk of being nebulous as it has been placed on a lot of products and solutions these days.
The Cloud Circle has managed to nail down its own definition of the term by stating that the cloud service features three distinct characteristics that make it stand out from traditional hosting. First, it is sold according to demand, second, the service is scalable and third, the service is completely managed by its provider.
